DB Power has successfully implemented its maiden venture, a 1200 MW coal-based super thermal power plant in the Janjgir-Champa district of Chhattisgarh. Both units, each with a capacity of 600 MW, have been commissioned and are currently in commercial operation, with the first unit starting on August 1, 2015, and the second unit on March 26, 2016. Unit – 1 (600 MW) was honored with the prestigious Bronze Shield for the year 2013-14 in the category of "Early Completion of Thermal Power Projects" by the Ministry of Power, Government of India.
